I am an application programmer and systems administrator at a healthcare facility, dedicated to improving user engagement in network security and computer literacy. I use my position on the Chattahoochee Valley Community College Technical Career Advisory Committee to emphasize computing skill requirements and HIPAA security in the curriculum of their healthcare programs, as well as providing my experience to help create better outcomes for future graduates of their IT program. I use C#/.NET to build custom applications, and am currently focused on improving network security practices as well as designing a HIPAA incident tracking system which will allow security and privacy officers to easily track issues, notify necessary individuals, and guide a uniform review process. My hope is this system will bring more attention to improving security practices and compliance, and simplify the process of performing privacy and security incident reviews.
